Marietta is rich with history. Nestled among the hills, City Club Marietta lies almost hidden, although it is only a few blocks from historic Marietta Square.

The original nine-hole layout was designed by members of the Marietta Country Club and constructed on the former site of the Georgia Military Institute around 1915. That original layout included holes that encircled the clubhouse and ran along Powder Springs Street. An additional nine holes was added in the early 1960's. The property was bought by the City of Marietta and after an extensive renovation by Mike Young Designs the course was opened to the public in the Fall of 1991.
