The Cobb County Senior Games were started primarily as a cele-bration of “May is Older Ameri-cans Month”, with events sched-uled in late April and the first two weeks in May. The purpose of the Games is to provide adults 50 and older an opportunity to participate in a variety of sports competitions, meet new people, learn new leisure skills, and be-come more aware of recreational opportunities available to them. Many of our athletes have be-come tough competitors in the Georgia Golden Games, and have continued on to national competition.

With the graying of the baby boomers, we are planning and preparing for the continued growth and development for our program. The senior population is getting “younger,“ healthier and more active.
